Powering Progress & Possibility

The Commercial Real Estate Development Association (CREDA) is a united force dedicated to advocating for the needs of the commercial real estate industry – showcasing perspectives across every role and asset class.

Why it matters

Sound policy decisions support development feasibility and foster market growth.

CREDA Central Texas advocates for continued economic growth in the region and policies that enable responsible development, economic competitiveness, and long-term growth. As part of CREDA’s broader mission, the chapter serves as a trusted voice in the Central Texas market, engaging policymakers and stakeholders on key issues. The CRE industry is what creates the space where people work, live, connect, and learn, and advocacy is how paths to opportunity are created.

Chapter Policy Priorities

  • 01

Regional utility infrastructure and transportation planning

CREDA CTX is engaged to help strengthen, secure and advocate for sustainable regional utility infrastructure including water, wastewater and electric utility needs. With the growth in Central Texas our members are seeing the strain and demand on these resources. Our advocates are charged with developing a regional solution instead of a piecemeal site by site approach.

  • 02

Regulatory land use, zoning, and entitlement processes and code

CREDA CTX actively participates in the formation and modification to foundational Land Development Code changes that impact our members. Our goal is to engage with policymakers to establish rules and regulations that create clear, and consistent regulatory policy.

  • 03

    Innovative tax policy

CREDA CTX advocates for the adoption and utilization of Incentive and Tax Credit opportunities to strengthen the region, attract users, and implement public and private collaboration. A foundational goal of NAIOP Austin is the fostering of an economy that promotes economic development and growth, job creation and real estate development.
